Style & Inspirations: I’m inspired by the Hudson River School and the landscape paintings of the Peredvizhniki movement. Seeing THE HEART OF THE ANDES, by Frederic Edwin Church, at the Met as a teenager was a profound experience and influenced me to pursue landscape painting.
Art Education: I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration in 2017, and later on studied under Jacob Collins at Grand Central Atelier.
Best Art Advice Received: I feel blessed since I’ve received so much great advice over the years, one that sticks with me is that you should focus your art practice around developing your understanding of nature. Also, compress your values!
Favorite Studio Music: MF DOOM
Favorite Work by Another Artist: EATON’S NECK, LONG ISLAND by John Frederick Kensett. My favorite piece actually changes all the time, but I always come back to the quiet beauty of this painting.
Artistic Goals: I would love to create some large studio paintings based on field sketches in the vein of the Hudson River School.
Other Passions: I love cooking, and spending time with other artists and friends.
Price Range: $1,000-$3,000
