Style & Inspirations: I love the Western art of James Reynolds, Martin Grelle and Bill Anton. Reynolds’s book Traildust has brought loads of inspiration to me. I also love hanging out on Anton’s website and studying his beautiful work as well as the work found online by many other great artists.
Art Education: From an early age, I’ve participated in many artist workshops and classes as well as spent countless hours studying on my own, listening to artist podcasts and watching online demonstrations.
Best Art Advice Received: The best art advice that I’ve received came from Bill Anton who told me to get my easel and paint outdoors. There is nothing that will teach you more than painting from direct observation.
Favorite Studio Music: Classical.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: APSAALOOKE SENTINELS by Martin Grelle. I’ll never forget the day when, at 17 years old, I walked into a gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas, and not even knowing who Grelle was at the time, I stood spell bound in front of this large piece and I knew that Western art was the genre I wanted to pursue.
Artistic Goals: Become a member of the Cowboy Artist of America. I love what I have heard about this association and its mission to sustain the passion for Western art in the following generations.
Other Passions: Church and family.
Price Range: $3,500-$6,500
