Janet Clukie, 24 GEORGIA

Style & Inspirations: I draw endless inspiration from nature and wildlife, capturing the essence and emotions of moments from mountain tops to Western scenes to create an immersive experience. My style blends loose realism with impressionism.

Art Education: I’ve had the opportunity to be mentored by and participate in workshops with highly respected and knowledgeable artists such as Kyle Ma, Jane Hunt, Christine Lashley, Jill Soukup, Amanda Lovett and Kathleen Dunphy.

Best Art Advice Received: Simply to “keep going.” Embrace mistakes as learning opportunities, push yourself to improve, and remember that each painting makes you a better painter.

Favorite Studio Music: I listen to a wide range of genres: folk, country, pop, instrumental, and the list keeps growing. I simply enjoy cranking up the speakers in the studio!

Favorite Work by Another Artist: My absolute favorite work, currently, from another artist, is DIAMOND A COWBOY by James Reynolds.

Artistic Goals: My artistic goal is to challenge myself and reach my fullest potential in my work. I genuinely believe that the learning process is endless, and I aspire to go as far as I possibly can and enjoying every moment of the journey.

Other Passions: My other passions include fishing, hiking and really most things outdoors. I also enjoy horseback riding, spending time with friends and family, and spending time with my dog.
