ART EDUCATION: Bachelor of fine arts from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA.STYLE: Contemporary impressionist or “new American realist.”MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT THE WAY YOU WORK: I think it’s always different and changing. I don’t have any one way of doing things. It all depends on the piece. I like to let layers dry so that they peek through as I build more and more layers.SECOND-CHOICE CAREER: Graphic designer. That is what I do for my day job now. I would consider going back to school for finance. I like to follow the stock market, which is completely the opposite of art.BEST ADVICE RECEIVED: Don’t worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will worry about itself. Keep your focus and don’t stress about the future. And from Chuck Close: “Inspiration is for amateurs. I just get to work.”CREATIVE SPARK: I am inspired by anything and everything. I don’t have any one subject matter. Inspiration is just around the corner.ONE THING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU: I am very analytical. I’m equally right-brained and left-brained.FUTURE GOALS: Painting full time.PRICE RANGE: $500 to $5,000.REPRESENTATION: Lovetts Gallery, Tulsa, OK; Wells Gallery, Charleston and Kiawah Island, SC; Water Street Gallery, Douglas, MI; Gallery 903, Portland, OR; www.markandrewbailey.com.
