Style: I would describe my style as impressionistic with expressive color and brushwork.

Creative Spark: Long drives through the Utah desert, traveling to new places, studying other artists’ work or visiting a museum always inspires me.

Art Education: I received my BA in art education from Brigham Young University in 2017.

Best Art Advice Received: “Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. Favorite Studio Music: Brandi Carlile, but most days I listen to a podcast or audiobook.

Favorite Work by Another Artist: Mesas in Shadow by Maynard Dixon.

Artistic Goals: Take more workshops from artists I admire—I always want to be learning and challenging myself. Also, to find a gallery to represent my work.

Other Passions: Knitting, baking sourdough, visiting national parks and traveling the world with my husband and daughter.
