Shae Zoe Reardon, 25 CALIFORNIA
Style & Inspirations: I draw inspiration from the natural world around me, especially from desert landscapes, where I explore and gather ideas—often focusing on the intricate details of native plant life. I paint these small desert flowers and plants on a larger scale, blending observation with interpretation to bring their textures and vibrant hues to life.
Art Education: I studied art, media and design at California State University San Marcos and graduated in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree.
Best Art Advice Received: “Do it for yourself,” where I find personal enjoyment and expression rather than external validation and artist trends.
Favorite Studio Music: My favorite type of music for painting includes jazz, funk, soul and indie. I’m currently listening to Σtella, a Greek indie-pop artist.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: ARROYO CHAMISA, 1927, by Gustave Baumann.
Artistic Goals: I would love to have a beautiful adobe art studio in Rockville, Utah, near my parent’s house.
Other Passions: Passions other than painting include surfing, mountain biking, skiing and rock climbing.
