Museum of Western Art, Kerrville, TX April 25-June 7
Beginning April 25, the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, Texas, is hosting its can’t-miss (and largest) fundraiser of the year with its annual Roundup Exhibition & Sale. Darrell Beauchamp, the museum’s executive director, explains the event is an “opportunity to meet and interact with some of the finest talents in their field and to add to—or begin—your collection of fabulous Western art.”
Represented in the exhibition is the work of over 61 artists from throughout the country. Each of the 150 paintings, drawings and sculptures is in the Western genre and they were carefully selected for the show by a committee of experts. Represented in the 2025 Roundup are acclaimed artists like Todd Connor, David Yorke, Jack Sorenson, Brandon Bailey, Eric Slocombe, William J. Kalwick Jr., Mary Ross Buchholz, Rachel Brownlee, John Gawne and Linda Glover Gooch. Everything on display is available for purchase, and proceeds will help fund future exhibitions and educational opportunities at the museum.
This year, the Roundup celebrates 42 years after its founding in 1983. It will kick off with a festive three-day opening full of artistic and community events. The weekend will begin with an awards and recognition banquet and dinner at the museum’s outdoor pavilion on Friday, April 25. Awards will be given for the “Director’s Choice,” “Patrons Choice for Bronze,” and “Patrons Choice for Painting.”
A meet-the-artist event will occur during the Roundup, in which the public will have the opportunity to simultaneously view the exhibited artwork and converse about the pieces with the artists themselves. Other activities occurring include a cowboy breakfast; the box-draw sale on the evening of Saturday, April 26; artist demos; and Western-themed outdoor activities.
An inductee ceremony at the museum’s Cowboy Artists Garden will also take place where three Cowboy Artists of America members—C. Michael Dudash, Todd Connor and Albin Veselka—will cast in concrete their hand- and boot-prints and signatures. These tributes will join the museum’s garden that displays the handprints and boot-prints of more than 60 emeritus and active CAA members. “We’re excited to have the opportunity to include these three artists in our Cowboy Artists Garden,” says Beauchamp, “which is one of the most photographed places at the Museum of Western Art.”
